"Official Brimstone Ride Report"
The Soggy Bottom Boys first Official visit to Brimstone was a huge Success. We all started with Breakfast and "Bull" at the Fireside Resturant and then Headed to the Permit Station. We were all Packed and ready for a full day of Riding and we got it. Our Guides took care of that, Stakk and "GoCommando" led us atound for over 12 Hours and 70 plus miles. The Trails were GREAT! We encountered ever type of trail that we have ever ridden, Fast sandy stuff like Pickett, Tight Twisty Stuff Mooseye's Camp, Narrow Ridge tops like Rockhouse at H-M, Technical Hill Climbs like Tellico but without the Bolders, Muddy Trails like the one's at Black Mountain and #10 at Pinnecial Creek on the H-M System. Several Pucker factor Places like in the Hills of Virginia and Kentucky, Several trails reminded me of Windrock 5 Years ago before they were so warn. This is one Awsome Place, The had Easy, Moderate and Pucker Factor Trails something for everyone. We will be back!
As our ride got started good we came to a creek crossing the first four of us made it fine but when Scrambler Girl's Polaris seen the water it said "I can't swim and I'm not going in it's over my tread" She didn't listen to her machine (She a teanager, You know how they listen, lol) So it decided to just flood out, GoCommando got it going and she tried again so it Spit the Chain off. They towed it back to Parking and was going to meet up with us later, We was rolling again, We had a good mix of trails and and rode for about an hour and met back up with the 4 that went and worked on the Scrambler. We rode here and there and up and down it was all good until one guy ripped the Valve stem out of his Itp Paririe Wheel. We put our heads together and figured uout a way to air it up and plug the valve stem hole. First time for everything, And held all day. It and S/G's Scrambler also flooded out a couple of other times and that was all of our Breakdowns. We the had lunch and "TMI" was spread by lot's of people. This is where "GoCommando" was given his name. Bama's sleep depervation set in and we was all laughing as she was talking to stay awake after eating. We rode on around to the edge of Sundquist Property where we could see some of Windrock's Mountains in the background. Then we went to the River where it was only "10 Mo'Miles". Most all either got wet or tossed rocks in water to get Bama and S/G wet, The washed there Hair and Feet. Then we really took some awsome tight hill climbs on "New" Trails. Shoot all of them was new to us.Then we went and seen the Windmills on Windrock Mountain from the Brimstone Property about 20 miles away. I talked to Rink most all morning on my new Radio 40-50 Miles away. We rode about 3 more hours and headed back in. It was a great Day in the hills of Tennessee, I can't wait to plan another trip to Brimstone. Thanks to Runoff for riding in back all day and not loosing anyone. Everyone had a great time. A special thanks to our Guides Stakk and GoCommando.
