Hello everyone,
Will be meeting up with family from AL in your area in June and I found out about a riding area I haven't been to yet. Was wondering first if the maps will show the actual trails as I don't own a GPS and getting lost is no fun. I am however good with maps and directions. Second, I will be be looking for a place to stay for my family of 4 and my sister and her husband. Can anyone suggest someplace close. Also, my sister and husband only own 2wd, would they be ok riding at BMR. Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks

I can help, yes the maps will show the actual trails and they will be numbered too. And, for a place to stay, there is the Grand Vista Hotel, which is at the 3-way stop at the end of Howard Baker Hwy.  And, your sister and husband should be ok om Brimstone as long as they dont get into the real deep mud holes. Since the trails are also gonna be rated on difficulty you may want to consider taking a "Blue" trail which is for a  moderate trail.  And by the way, the hotel is only about 5 mins. from the huntsville trail entrance.

is this grand vista hotel the closest one to the trailhead?  how close is it?  are there other motels within 5-10 miles of where the ride begins?  also how much do the motels cost per night?

The Grand Vista is only about 2miles away and is very clean and nice. I think it was 89.00 a night but includes a very good breakfast and they have snacks, ice, sodas, water, even beer for sale to stock up each morning before ride.
