Memorial Day Weekend Ride/Campout

5 Weekends to go!

This ride will be here before we know it. As the way it looks now there should be no problem fitting us in at the campsite... keep in mind people will decide last minute to show up and wanna camp so will have to keep that inconsideration.

Suzukigirl, Dixiez400, yall still coming for Memorial Day weekend? I kknow yall mentioned camping somewhere else but wasnt sure where that spot is. I dont know how to judge how big yalls haulers are but with no more then the ones posting about camping is, yall should have enough room also.

Seeing how saturday night/day will be busy with the events and all, I would like to suggest we have our big campfire/cookout Sunday night for the folks that have to head home early monday... the rest that dont have to rush off can stick around and see the others off and get in some more riding.
Just got to thinking it would be hard to have a big fire and all with the events going on... I personally would like to see them and would hate to miss a good campfire! Just an idea... Im full of them so just have to look over those.

Bama, I think some of the bigger rigs could fit nicely along the entrance way to the camp area.. Several of them could park there with no problem. Also have that lower area for camping in tents.

I'm already getting stuff packed up for this event. Sunday night sounds good for our Campfire Party. If there is anything else we need to bring Bama let me know. We will bring some fire wood too, and the 10x10 canapy. Also will try to bring a coleman stove for us to cook on.

Thats my thoughts exactly... I was thinking they said they would be there Thursday sometime and should have plenty of room to come in cirlce around and pull in how they need too to make them comfortable... that grassy section to the right before u get to the little trail that goes down to the bridge is what I was thinking about... its also well lit over there if they wanted or needed light. Might save the area around where we had the kitchen last time for tents and then have the enclosed trailers on the far side like where u and Trophystock parked. Just an idea.
I wish I had a way to draw it out and post how the area looks to make this make a little more sense.  Im trying to make it where we can get there early but its still a wait and see game... I should know more this week.

Sounds good KG... several stoves is a good idea..specially in the mornings for breakfast... saturday morning is going to be a little hectic around camp for those trying to get ready and up for the Poker Run @ 8am.

Bring a lantern too if u have it... I dont own a gas powered one... got a few items looked up that I need to order online this week for some new camping gear.

Dang, you ladies have been busy!!!

Bama, I was only down at the designated area once so I really dont remember the layout. I'll just try to get in where my wife can have some privacy if she wants. I only remember the tables on top.

Sunday nite fire sounds great!!  (Ya hear that Stakk???) I cant wait to watch ya'll build a fire using only 2 sticks and some grass.

We don't have a toyhauler, if we come to this weekend we will hotel it. We still are trying to decide if we can make it. Gonna be in WVA on the new trailhead May 13, 14, and 15th at the Ashland KOA in a cabin, so looking at funds/time to try to come to Brimstone. We'll keep ya posted.

I was just thinking to take into consideration the folks in the tents and figured it would be pretty easy for the motorhomes/enclosed trailers/etc to park and find a good spot. We had folks from one end to the other back in march... I dont think we will be crowded at all from who all says they are coming and the few others I have talked too... some may just come for the day or events and not camp the whole weekend.

My bad Suzuki gal, I was thinking yall had a toy  hauler too... I understand about teh new trailhead in WVA, I look forward to hearing about that trip and seeing any pics if u take some.

Rincon2, u have to keep up around here or anywhere the girls are talking about a ride... the closer it get the more excited we seem to get.

I was going to try to make it up to WVA that week myself with some other friends and meet some other friends up there for Quadcrew's spring ride but things have fallen thru and I cant get off of work and my carpool buddies cant get away either.... so I guess I will just be saving my time and gas money for this ride. I definitly will be going to H&M next year!

Yeah I would also like to make the trip to H/M's but we can't this year either. We already have plenty of rides planned for the rest of the year. So maybe we can get a group to go up next year.

I would like to do a HM trip and try to do it just like the other trip we went on... it worked out good cause one had been before and new where to go and where to stay... I would end up doing the same thing and trying to plan the rides like we did the last time. We had a great place to stay too... they took real good care of us and they can handle a fairly large group. At first about 20 people said they would go... they were supposed to have their money in by the end of January for the ride in august but a few didnt...others did and had things come up that they couldnt control...ended up I think there was only 9 of us. I have never seen 9 people work so well together... a couple of us would be inside fixing lunches for the trails or fixing supper while the others were outside cleaning out radiators and loading things for the next day. I was very proud to be apart of such a good group of guys and them to be so organized. I love organization specially on long expensive trips like that. :!:

I will try to get with Flipper and get the directions down real good and try to find out and remember what all trailheads we took and what days we were gone.... We went in Late July cause of the longer days and daylight... u cant ride after dark up there. I wasnt driving so I dont know exact hwys and interstates we took... he is an old truck driver so I call on him anytime I want a good route to take to get somewhere.

Talked to another guy that doesnt get on and post about the Memorial day weekend ride and events and he is going to at least try to come friday night and saturday... He will have to see closer to time.
