Looks like there is a group forming up to make it to ride Brimstone the weekend of March 17th.
Need a little info though, heard that we cant camp at the reservoir anymore and wondered if there was any other place close by? Is it possible to pull a trailer up on T3 with a 2wd blazer?
I had planned on coming up on friday evening and setting up camp and getting ready for the ride on saturday... but at work last night another guy is on vacation that week so Im not sure if I can take off that friday night yet or not.
My girl also got a postcard from Brimstone about the permits between today and the 17th of March... Really nice postcards... just wonder why she got one and I didnt... lol O well.... look forward to riding here again in a couple of weeks.
Agenda: Meet and be ready to ride @9am March 17, 2007
Moderate to some extreme riding conditions and somewhat of a fast pace to let the folks from out of state get as much of a taste of Brimstone as possible. This isnt a club ride or special group ride... just some folks thats wanted to ride and meeting all at once at one time. It has been mentioned if the group is too big to split into a smaller group.

Sad but true about the lake  until further notice the HUD board of director's have denied use of the lake property for anything other than fishing....... they have had theft and vandalism lately and all it takes is one bad apple to spoil it for everyone, looks like the Memorial weekend event will be at the 5 acre parking/campsite on trail #3, we are having a meeting this Monday to hash this out......... The road up trail # 3 to the campsite is gravel with a few small hill's, if you aren't loaded super heavy on the trailer, and keep your momentum and speed up the incline's you should make it fine, kinda like hills on your ATV..........BTW, who, and how many are coming the 17th? yall' gonna "wing it" by yourselves this time? ?? Got a few coming from South Carolina that are interested in riding here and then a few others from TN and then whoever else wants to come along. Some of the ones from TN have ridden here quite a bit and I been enough times I know some of the trails. You are more then welcome to join us.... wasnt sure your working schedule and when u work at the permit office.
Got a good idea of about 7 right now but give or take a few between now and then. Its posted on SBB but no response from any yet. I didnt realize when I was looking at dates that RBR is having a campout ride with their club so doubt if any of them will make it.
Mainly trying to get a handful of folks I know from riding with the past few months to get together at one time and show them around brimstone. The smaller the group we have the more ground we can cover but Im not going to discourage anybody from coming cause of group size... they wanna ride, then we will ride.

A 4x4 would be ideal, the last big hill past the oil tank right below the parking lot now has a lower road around it, it will be graveled soon, we are working on getting a fairly large field ready for the bigger rig's and 2 wheel drives just out on Litton's covered bridge rd. there in Huntsville we have been thrown for a loop over this resevoir thing but will find a way to accomadate everyone somehow.....

Hey bama the guys from SC would that be dirtslinger? I am actually going with him and will be bringing my two boys. We are going to camp also. Looking forward to riding with you Yep! I talked to him and wasnt sure who else would be with him... Really nice guy... met him back at the Fall ride last year at Windrock and talked his ear off and then I stayed at the same place he did at New Years and met some of his riding buddies... I was up at Winterfest last weekend and hollared at them and they ended up being able to make it to ride last weekend too... Real nice guys, I look forward to getting to ride with them... they did ride some of the trails we rode last saturday but there were in their own group. They ended up going home on sunday morning so I rode with some other folks. My hopes is to get all the folks that been wanting to check out Brimstone to make it this one weekend and do it at once.... I have ridden WR to death and Im sure there is lots I still havent seen @ Brimstone. I hope the weather cooperates!!!! I love to camp but hate to sleep in the rain or freezing cold. Im not bringing my little girl this time.... I try to alternate and bring her every other ride.... some of the stuff I have ridden on before at Brimstone is a lot rougher then I care to take her own... I have a hard enough time keeping me straight and rubberside down much less double her. Speaking of 4wd... yall thinking I cant make it with the blazer and my trailer? Sort of got myself in a pickle the last time I was up that way and stayed at Rideroyalbluecabins.com, snow on the ground and I was almost to the top and I just sat there and spin... ended up sliding back down the snowy hill and had to get a big runnign go to make it. popparuch, look forward to riding with u too and Im sure Stakk can explain how to get to the parking area on T3 better then I can.... I have asked off for that friday night from work but if I dont get it off I will leave work friday night and get to Brimstone right at the time to head out to ride.... More then likely I will for sure camp saturday night after working all night then riding all day... if some want to ride on sunday thats fine with me too... might as well ride while Im there. Just cant stay late cause I go back into work sunday night.

If we have to I hook your trailer to my truck and take it up there, you can make with the Blazer alone fine........the gravel's do cause you to spin some though, we'll work it out before then, don't wory, it's pretty cool up there with the view and all.......

I ve got a 4wd also I'll make sure and have a chain. My kids are pretty good riders they are 12 and 15 so the only one in question would be 12 yr old. They might have a new one by then the 90 is getting a little small

I think your kids will be fine... we shouldnt hit anything real bad and extreeme, and if so, after somebody spots my rollcon we can spot them! lol  I dont want anybody to get hurt and make sure everyone can see as much of the place as possible while we are there.
Been looking at the map this evening trying to see which all of the trails I have ridden teh times I been there.

I think I got things straightened out at work to be able to come like I had planned at first. So I dont have to worry now about trying to make it in plenty of time now on saturday morning.
Popparuch, is one of your sons the one that was with the guy that wrecked towtrucks rincon and got knocked out? I heard the young boy handled the situation really well and was wondering if you and your son might be the ones they posted about on WR board.

Stakk, Is it ok to camp at that parking area over by new river / trail 6?We have parked there the last few times we rode. It was a little muddy where you pull in off the road, but if my van can make it, anything can.
