Yes, that's true......Brimstone rec. LLC has given the local residents a special intro rate for the 2006 season, this is a "give back" sort of thing for all the support, labor, and love they have given this area for years.......

The security will ask you to leave the property and go to the Permit headquarters and purchase one.........

What security?  How will 45,000 acres with many entry points be policed?

That's what makes Brimstone different, they aren't going to "police" the area......By that I mean there is staff/security in place that will be on the mountain at all different times and places doing ongoing trail maintanance and asking if people have their permit's........they will not be a "police dept" type of people, but will explain the costs, etc of keeping this thing alive and open, and politely asking for you to buy your permit if you want to be on the property....Just this weekend, there was a big group of ATV riders from Louisville Ky. riding on Brimstone and "Blue" and Dudley explained to them what the permit situation was, of course they didn't know, and this being on a Saturday, they were going to be riding Sunday also, and already had their rooms booked and paid for....well even though the permit  office was closed by this time, a phone call was made and the lovely lady at the permit office was waiting on them when they got to Huntsville from the mountain and issued their permits and all was fine, I hope this shows the willingness of Brimstone recreation to accomadate their visitors and also the riders from Louisville were very understanding about the permit situation as they also ride Windrock/Coal creek so "police"?? No, good 'ole boys trying to keep a good thing going?? YES!!!
