any reports of major washout near the top of 87?

Large group of friends are heading up this week and would want them to avoid the trail if it is need of repair.

We rode it yesturday (April 7) and it did not seem bad to us.  It is a red trail sooooo...  We rode it because of people saying it was washed out.  It may be harder than it once was but it is definitely doable.  One of the crew did it in 2 wheel drive with a rhino.

It all depends on who's at the keyboard. Grin

Ahh haha, for real though the loggers are making a mess of things, anyone know when they will be done up there or are they gonna be cutting for awhile?

As far as i have heard, there was no problems on any of the trails that the group rode and from all reports a good time was had by all.

After riding a few days we finally found this washout.  It was on trail 102 and it was very very easy top go around.  So we put up a flag so people can see it a little better.  But just so everyone knows red trails are hard and this was a very easy part of the trail.  Now about the whoops they are actually called water breaks and they have to be on the trails to prevent further erosion and really a lot of people enjoy them on the trail.

From what i have been told they should be out of there by the middle of May.

back when i was a kamikaze on a premix 2 wheeler, these water breaks were my launching pads to infinity and beyond. lol

Yea the water breaks "erosion control devices"! if it were'nt for them alot of trails would become nearly impassible.

rode a trail sunday on my way to a favorite morel site and the rains from Saturday had played heck with the trail. Trail was already rutted and with the runoff from the rain , made the ruts deeper and wider and alot harder to navigate. This trail is not on brimstone but its real close.

Wish this trail had some erosion control devices on it.
